For the first time on Blu-Ray anywhere!! Amazon Women on the Moon is a 1987 American satirical comedy film that parodies the experience of watching low-budget movies on late-night television. The film, featuring a large ensemble cast, was written by Michael Barrie and Jim Mulholland, and takes the form of a compilation of 21 comedy skits directed by five different directors: Joe Dante, Carl Gottlieb, Peter Horton, John Landis, and Robert K. Weiss. The title Amazon Women on the Moon refers to the central film-within-a-film, a spoof of science-fiction movies from the 1950s that borrows heavily from Queen of Outer Space (1958) starring Zsa Zsa Gabor, itself a movie that recycles elements of earlier science-fiction works such as Cat-Women of the Moon (1953), Fire Maidens from Outer Space (1955), and Forbidden Planet (1956). Film actors making cameo appearances in various sketches included Rosanna Arquette, Ralph Bellamy, Griffin Dunne, Carrie Fisher, Steve Forrest, Steve Guttenberg, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kelly Preston, and Henry Silva, alongside television actors such as Ed Begley, Jr., Bryan Cranston, David Alan Grier, Howard Hesseman, Peter Horton, William Marshall, Joe Pantoliano, Robert Picardo, and Roxie Roker. Other notable people in the cast included voice actors Corey Burton and Phil Hartman, talk show host Arsenio Hall, adult film actress Monique Gabrielle, science-fiction writer Forrest J. Ackerman, B-movie stars Lana Clarkson and Sybil Danning, musician B. B. King, radio personalities Roger Barkley and Al Lohman, composer Ira Newborn, director Russ Meyer, model Corinne Wahl, comedian Andrew Dice Clay, Firesign Theater member Phil Proctor, and independent film actor Paul Bartel. John Landis had previously directed The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977), which employed a similar sketch anthology format.

Tropic Thunder

When box office champ Ben Stiller's comedic performances aren't a variation on a soft-spoken, put-upon everyman with an eventual fuse, he's usually playing a full-blown absurdist monster with an apoplectic Napoleon complex. These bizarre creations usually adorn films in which the funnyman provides the supporting work (DODGEBALL, HEAVYWEIGHTS), but, whenever he's directing, he's free to build an entire filmic universe around his asinine, ludicrously funny, culture-skewering characters and premises. His ZOOLANDER (2001) bit at the entertainment industry with silly abandon, but Stiller has firmly set TROPIC THUNDER within the realm of sophisticated Hollywood satire. In it, a desperate director named Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan) trying to make a Vietnam war movie drops his pampered actors into the heart of the jungle. Cockburn's stars include Stiller as an action hero who's starting to make bad career choices, Jack Black as an insecure low-brow comedy star going through heroin withdrawals, and Robert Downey Jr. as an Australian Oscar winner so lost in his 'craft' he underwent a procedure to become black for his role. In the jungle, they remain under the delusion that they are still being filmed even after they encounter a dangerous gang of drug lords. The film's basic premise has popped up several times since Hollywood's 1970s golden age in films such as THREE AMIGOS! and GALAXY QUEST. Where those films simply blanketed a classic Overconfident Bumbling Idiot comedy showcase with a pop culture lexicon, however, TROPIC THUNDER could have only been made, as on-the-nose at is, by people who have been working in the Hollywood system for years, making cutting observations along the way. Simply put, this raucous satire knows big-budget filmmaking, the delusional narcissism of actors, and even the good points of those actors--perhaps why they're celebrated--like the back of its hand. Special Features: Cast commentary with Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. Featurettes: Blowing Shit Up, The Cast of Tropic Thunder, The Hot LZ Make-Up Test with Tom Cruise Full Mags RAIN OF MADNESS trailer MTV Movie Awards – TROPIC THUNDER

In this hour, everyone loves the movies, for a laugh or just to escape normal life for a few minutes. Sometimes a film can do more, pushing the limits of technology or of ideas. And sometimes films just push the limits of good taste. John Waters has done it with films like Pink Flamingos and Polyester. His new project is not a film at all, but a book about his Role Models. Steve Paulson expected the lesbian stripper Lady Zorro from Waters, but was surprised by the singer Johnny Mathis.Next, the dark heart of Hollywood has resulted in films like Psycho , The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Silence of the Lambs, all of them inspired by the mass murdered Ed Gein. No one expected the latest such inspiration: Ed Gein: The Musical. Steve Paulson talks with Dan Davies, who wrote the film and plays the title role. And then there's the YouTube sensation The Winnebago Man, also known as "the angriest man in the world." It captured the imagination of a young filmmaker named Ben Steinbauer, who tracked down the angry man, Jack Rebney, now 81 years old. Anne Strainchamps spoke with them both. Finally, Tasha Robinson is an associate editor of The Onion's AV Club, who says 2010 was the year of the documentary that wasn't. The two sensations of the year, Catfish and Exit Through the Giftshop, may not even have been real documentaries. But she says no matter what, 2010 was a great year. Goldilocks might once have not even been considered a film. After all, it's shot entirely on an iPhone 4 and distributed not through theaters but via an app. The filmmakers Michael Keorbel and Anna Elizabeth James tell Jim Fleming where they got the idea for this compelling, definitely low-budget, film. Everybody (Madonna Song)

Everybody is song by American singer-songwriter Madonna from her self-titled debut album. It was released on October 6, 1982 by Sire Records as her debut single. Madonna had recorded a demo of the song with Steve Bray. She urged DJ Mark Kamins, who played at her dance club, to play it. He was impressed by the song and took her to Sire Records, who signed her for a two song deal. However, after the recording of the two singles were over, Sire executive Michael Rosenblatt was not impressed with the production of the other song and decided to release only "Everybody". Musically incorporating R&B infused beats, the song portrayed the image of Madonna as a black artist, since her picture did not appear on the single cover. However this misconception was cleared later when Madonna convinced Sire executives to allow her to shoot a music video for the song. The low-budget music video directed by Ed Steinberg portrayed Madonna and her friends singing and dancing in a club to the song.
